Privacy policy.
What the site collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: as little as possible, and nothing we sell.
1. Scope
This policy covers modven.co and messages you send to hello@modven.co or justin@modven.co. Client records sent to us during an engagement are covered separately by our Data Statement, which is stricter.
2. What we collect
When you submit the Opportunity ID or contact form, we collect what you type: your name, work email, company, role, and the description of your business and systems. When you email us, we keep the email. The site does not use advertising trackers, cookies, or fingerprinting. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and records aggregate page views, referrers, country, and device type without identifying you or following you across other sites. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and reliability, and we load fonts from Google Fonts, which sees the request for the font file.
3. Why we collect it
To answer you, to scope and price an engagement, to send you the NDA and the engagement agreement, and to keep a record of what was agreed. We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it or rent it to anyone.
4. Legal basis
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on your request (you asked us to contact you), the steps needed to enter an agreement with you, and our legitimate interest in running the practice and keeping the site secure.
5. Who sees it
Justin Jarvinen and the small number of people and service providers who help run Modven: email and document hosting, form handling, and e-signature. Each of them is bound to use the information only to provide their service to us. We do not share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
Form submissions and emails are kept for as long as we are in conversation with you and for up to twenty-four months afterward, so we can pick the thread back up. If we sign an engagement, the agreement and the invoices are kept for as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; see section 8.
7. Security
Information is stored with providers that encrypt data in transit and at rest, with access limited to the people who need it. No method is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something goes wrong with your information.
8. Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@modven.co and we will respond within thirty days. If you are in a jurisdiction with a data protection authority, you also have the right to complain to it.
9. Children
The site is for businesses and the people who run them. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the bottom of the page tells you when.
